Big Four?

It appears Braga has emerged as a legitimate league title contender this year. However, there are still plenty of games left to play. In what place do you think each member of this newly appointed "Big Four" will finish?
The way I see it, Porto has third place locked up, and will finish the league there. While Sporting's fourth place position is anything but guaranteed, I don't foresee any team knocking them off. The real battle here is at the very top between Braga and Benfica. Benfica had a slip-up against Setubal in their last league match, tying the bottom dwellers 1-1. However, I watched that match, and to be honest, they were lucky not to lose, as Setubal had a goal disallowed due to an incorrect offside call. Also, Setubal was forced to suffer with a couple other erroneous offside decisions that may have resulted in them scoring had play not been stopped. On the other hand, some might argue that Cardozo should have scored his penalty shot in extra time for the win, but I believe that was just karma playing its part. Anyway, my point is that champions need to be as lucky as they are good, and it seems that although Benfica are staring up at Braga right now, they will over take their northern rivals over the course of the remaining league games. And so I believe the top 4 will finish as follows:
1. Benfica
2. Braga
3. Porto
4. Sporting
How do you think the Big 4 will finish?

"...they were lucky not to lose, as Setubal had a goal disallowed due to an incorrect offside call." - How about the two penalties that weren't sanctioned in favour of Benfica? I'm just saying because I watched the game too and by reading this post, people would tend to believe that Setubal was severely compromised by the referee... and it wasn't, at all, the case.

  2. I'm pretty sure I remember those instances, and to call those penalties would be way more questionable than the 100% poor offside calls setubal suffered, either way, for some reason i feel like portuguese officiating lacks that quality of the highest degree, it seems every weekend there is some controversy, i don't know exactly what needs to be done to have this corrected, but it definitely needs some thought and action...overall though, Benfica will win the league still!

  6. I'm SHOCKED by the Uniao de Leiria predictions! How can you guys say that?!?! Sporting is having a horrible season by Sporting's standards, compared to the others, I still think they will hold on to fourth!

  7. Uniao is only one point back from sporting, i think sporting will drop more points over the course of the rest of the season than leiria will. I thought the big shock would be how i predicted porto to get into second place when they are 6 points behind braga.

  9. it's not crazy to think porto can over take braga over the long haul, porto are proven performers, as good as braga have been, they can potentially fall off with a bad 2 or 3 game streak

  10. well, sporting has dropped two points today with a tie to pacos de ferreira! Leiria has a chance now to pull ahead by 1 point.

  11. Benfica keeps climbing up that table

  13. Porto will make it to first place. Benfica and Braga will choke and Porto will finnish at the top where thet belong.

  14. I can see the argument for many people arguing the order of the top three but I agree that it will end:

    1. Benfica
    2. Braga
    3. Porto
    4. Sporting

What's with all this nonsense of Sporting being left in the dust by Leiria?! Pure garbage from a true Sporting hater named Nene. There's too much talent there to drop out of fourth and Leiria ended up dropping points as well. Sporting also has a game in hand.
