Our beloved selecção has come agonizingly close to lifting a trophy at the senior level, but the fact of the matter is...we still haven't! If you could put together a trophy-winning, supreme dream team consisting of Portugal's very best players from any generation, who would you include?
Given my age, I know I missed out on seeing a lot of spectacular Portuguese footballers that came and went before the 90's, but nonetheless here is my selection:
Goalkeeper: Vitor Baia
Defense: Boswinga, Ricardo Carvalho, Fernando Couto, Dimas
Midfield: Luis Figo, Rui Costa, Mario Coluna, Fernando Chalana
Strikers: Cristiano Ronaldo, Eusebio

My team would be similar except i do not know who dimas or mario coluna are. If i had to replace them with players i knew of i would propably take PEPE for Mario Coluna and for dimas i'd put in rui jorge

Dimas, Pepe, Joao Domingos Pinto, Bosingwa, Fernando Meira, Miguel, JORGE COSTA! (one of the funniest guys I've ever seen play the game);
Carlos Manuel, Deco, Mario Coluna, Jose Augusto, Antonio Simoes, Sergio Conceicao, Paulo Sousa, Quaresma (skill is undeniable), Maniche, Oceano, Simao;
Fernando Gomes, Nene, Jose Torres, Rui Jordao, Pauleta, Nuno Gomes, LIEDSON! (has been a favourite of mine for years, I hope he is the CF we've been looking for)
Lets take this giant squad to the WC 2010!
