Music and Culture Break

The song playing in this video is a personal favorite of mine, entitled "Lisboa, Menina, e Moça," and performed by the legendary Carlos do Carmo. It invokes strong feelings of nostalgia, and always tempts me to book a flight back to the mother land!

I posted this second video because it serves as a quick and thorough representation of life in Lisbon. Lisbon has it all - history, culture, architecture, night life, sports, beaches, shopping, and a mild to hot climate - and is considered an alpha global city. This city truly is a gem, and I strongly encourage everyone on the planet to visit if they get the chance!

  1. The first video gave me goosebumps. What a great song and amazing pictures. When i hear the lyric "toalha a beira mar, estendida" It brings back those amazing days on the clear hot beaches in lisbon.

I know many people from work who have no ties to Portugal who make this great country a must travel destination. One co-worker in particular stated that Portugal was his favorite country he has ever visited. He has been there three times one of which was a honey moon retreat with his wife. He had nothing nut nice things to say about the hospitality he was greeted with at every restaurant, every super market and every hotel he went to. His first visit to Portugal was a short stop in a European tour, and of every country even his own home country of Greece, Portugal is the only country he has gone back to.

We are a simple and hard working people, we may not have much to show to those who just pass, but for those who stay feel our wealth.
