Ronaldo - too much of a good thing?

Ronaldo is arguably the best player of today's generation of soccer superstars. He is a complete package, and at the club level, dominates the game single-handedly. However, for the national team, it has also been said this is his problem - he tries to do it all by himself...

What are your thoughts on Ronaldo's performances for the national team so far?

  1. this is not just ronaldo's problem, this is the selecao's problem. although I see improvements every game they play leading up to the world cup, they still are not where they need to be. we can learn from Brasil & check the ego at the door & keep it off the field. Again, we have made alot of improvements but we still need to get everybody on the same page. On paper we have one of the best if not the best team in the world, the chemistry is the only thing lacking.

  3. i partially agree with the first post, i too believe the seleccao lacks a team chemistry right now, they all need to get on the same wavelength, but i think the couple weeks the team will get together before the tournament should help correct that, however, as for ur other point, i truly believe there are no egos out their...except for maybe one... sorry second blogger lol (by the way, use a nickname so we can distinguish yall)... hopefully the stars align for us come june, we work out all the kinks and have a solid tournament, no less than the semis!

  5. I have to admit the way Ronaldo carries himself really bothers me. He is without a doubt our best player, and in the void of leadership that was created when Figo left, his big head was thrust in to fill that leadership role. Being our most gifted player, I really hope he can mature to take on a role that maybe he is still a few years young to be ready to take.

I also hope that the staff and senior players have the balls to smack him upside the head when the immature kid in him acts up.

Here's hoping he grows up and plays like the dominant player we know he is....
