Or maybe someone unexpected like Makukula, Helder Postiga, Carlos Saleiro, Edinho, Varela, or João Tomas will get a surprise inclusion, and possibly even a starting place?
Or maybe Queiroz will shock all of us and start with two strikers up front? Personally, I'd love to see that possibility given a chance for at least part of a game!

I like the idea of two strikers up front aswell. Liedson and Hugo Almeida probably. Liedson has proven tho that he is our starting striker. I also think that Nuno Gomes should be subbed in for the last 5 minutes of every Portugal game. No homo, but i hold a special place in my heart for Nuno. lol. Altho Makukula has been playing very well in turkey i do not think that will translate onto the world stage, and i don't know too much of the other players.

ReplyDeleteAs appealing as two strikers would sound for Portugal. Our national team has always been a midfield minded team. Our goals have come from our midfielders just as much as our strikers . . . If not more. I'm not sure if adding another stiker upfront would help or hinder us. If we add that position upfront then we potentially loose fire power in the middle or lack some defence in the back. With our strikers not having as much success as others on different national teams i'm not sure that i'd want portugal to take that gamble.

Francis Obikwelu should be our striker! Just send him the ball and hell take care of the rest lol... my 4 picks: Liedson, Ronaldo, Varela, Makukula... my 5th pick would be Nuno Gomes, for some reason deep down inside me, that guy would pull some kind of miracle for that one game! Honestly I think hes done but sometimes hes that miracle maker... Fuckin guy, just wished he was more consistent!
